Less than Truck Load service

This road transportation service allows multiple shippers to share the same truck. It is the preferred option for shipments where the cargo volume is less than that of a full truck.

Management and Procedures

Depending on our clients’ needs, we can offer door-to-door land transportation service or combine it with air or sea transportation. For shipments involving third countries, we also handle the necessary documentation and customs clearance both at origin and destination.

Palletized Cargo

Unlike full loads, groupage shipments will be handled several times during transit. In some cases, it may also be necessary to temporarily store or relocate them. Therefore, to operate without delays, the goods must be palletized.

Types of cargo

General Cargo

Commercial shipments of diverse, non-specialized merchandise that do not require temperature control or other specific considerations. It includes a wide variety of products, from packaged foods to manufactured goods. Shipments of this type of merchandise should be packaged in regular-use containers such as boxes, drums, big bags, etc., and finally placed on pallets.

Dangerous goods

These are again commercial shipments, but they require specific consideration determined by their ADR classification. In this case, the variety of products is equally broad and can range from lithium batteries to corrosive liquids or toxic gases. These shipments must be accompanied by a safety data sheet and conditioned as indicated by the same sheet.

Temperature-Controlled Goods

These are commercial shipments of perishable products and are usually classified into two main groups: food and medicines. Both chilled and frozen services are available. This type of shipment must be packaged according to specific regulations and finally placed in boxes on pallets.

Cargo not accepted in road groupage

Among the goods that cannot be transported in LTL road groupage are vehicles, bulk cargo, and personal effects.

The option of road groupage allows shipments to be made without incurring the cost of a full truck. This reduces the economic impact of transportation on the value of the goods.

For the transportation of dangerous goods:

MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet).

For the transportation of temperature-controlled goods:

Commercial invoice.

Packing list.

Original phytosanitary certificate (if the destination/origin of the goods is a country outside the EU).

In the case of goods from countries outside the EU, the importer must have registrations and/or licenses to carry out the importation of certain products. Below are the most common cases:

Importing food products: Health registration for the importer. Health registration for the destination warehouse.

Importing pharmaceutical products: Sanitary license issued by the Medicine Agency (Agencia del Medicamento).

In all cases, and for any type of importation, it will be necessary for the importer to activate their EORI number through the Tax Agency (Agencia Tributaria).

For transports between EU countries, customs clearance is not required either at origin or destination.
